Client: Private Equity funded start-up in Semantic Web Digital Media Platforms
Objective: NextGen’s Mobile Content, Apps, and Media practice was retained to identify and recruit a VP Technology Strategy for Semantic Web Digital Media platform vendor. The company was relocating from APAC to Silicon Valley and needed a new CTO who has experience with semantic web ontologies, taste and relationship graphs, NLPs, etc. and had already accomplished moving digital media platforms for enterprise customers from beta stage to full commercial launch. We used direct competitors to gather a short list for the client.
Search Strategy: Identify candidates who were well known by their industry peers and had deep roots into the semantic web community to build a team of engineers and developers and who had experience with technology road show with VCs. We contacted venture capital firms and private equity funding groups, and reached out to large digital media social networking players.
Results: The search resulted in NextGen GES finding the right candidates that came from “direct competitors” who were performing similar responsibilities with their technology and products. The client considered the candidate to be much MORE than what they had imagined and offered him to be a Co-Founder and CTO.
