This search was to recruit a SVP Sales to be based in the UK as the growth of mobile operators, including strategic partnerships with Virgin Mobile, could be penetrated for international roaming, media services, and investments into the European wireless subscriber markets. The ideal candidate for the SVP Sales role needed to have solid relationships with C levels corporate at the major telecom operators in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
Chief Technology Officer and SVP Sales Simultaneous Search
The client was a major investor in Saudi Telecom and Kelley Dorsey was retained to recruit a CTO for the new mobile operator network, which is now known as Jawal. Both the SVP Sales and CTO searches required urgency. The candidate would be easy to find as it required someone who had lived and worked in USA or Canada, but also had lived and worked in the Middle East with understanding of the engineering, subscriber markets, culture, and have solid relationships with the principals in the Saudi royal family.
A solid background in developing product roadmap, staffing, P&L, and launching a mobile network was required. This search was conducted simultaneously with the SVP Sales executive search.
